Our Blanks are cut from trees found throughout Idaho, Oregon and Washington. We have a good selection of walnut to choose from. The tree species (Black, American, Claro, English) are all found in this region. They are grown in differant soil and weather conditions and can produce completely different properties from others of the same species. This gives us a good variety of walnut blanks, which are sold by grade and type of wood. Price is based on amount of figure and rarity of wood species. English Walnut trees are almost impossible to find anymore in larger diameters. They do produce highly figured wood and are usually the most expensive. Most walnut trees found in the dry desert regions of the west produce tight grained dense wood. This is also very desirable and large sizes are becoming more rare. When buying our wood we ask a market driven price. This is based on internet sales available to everyone. There is little adjustment for regional prices. Small town rural America customers pay the same as New York City customers. Our blanks, wood and lumber is handled from the tree to the finished product. No Middle-Man, No Wood-Broker, No Lumber-Companies, it is sold directly to you the customer. This insures the highest quality and fair pricing.
